An Encouraging Day

Hi everyone, What a busy day. We spent the morning with Caleb Tariku. I think the extra time helped us get past his initial fear. We got to see him laughing and playing. I (Tom) really enjoyed playing catch with him. He fell asleep sitting in Leanne's lap. Today was very encouraging, but tomorrow the center is closed and we won't get to see him. They will keep us busy with church and then a trip out of Addis to a resort.

We also spent the afternoon touring downtown Addis, going to the Museum of National History, and doing some shopping. We bought some coffee, but I'm still looking for a shop that roast it as you buy it. Tonight we went out to eat with 6 other Holt families. We ate at a traditional Ethiopian restaraunt. There was a great buffet with injera ( a traditional Ethiopian flat bread) and traditional dancing (they dance, not us). It was a great day but very long.

We are still working on sending pictures.

Wow! The waiting is finally over and I can hardly believe that Caleb has now played with you both, and slept in your arms! God is so good. I can hardly wait to meet him!

We are having a good time with the girls. We did a little shopping today. Went to a couple different parks and of course played the Wii, computer games, bike riding, and with Noah. Everything is going well here.

We will continue to pray for y'all and Caleb as you prepare to come home soon. Enjoy your time away.

Love you both, Rick and Roxanne

As I read this I cannot help but cry tears of joy. We are so excited for you guys. Tom, I know it must have been a great feeling to be playing catch with your son. Leanne, I can now relate to how it feels to have your son sleeping in your lap. It is the greatest feeling in the world!!!

Tom and Leanne,

It is Saturday night and I'm here at the church praying for whole NABC family. My thoughts raced as I thought about the two of you. I got on the computer to see if you posted today and you did. Thank you Lord for Caleb! Just thinking about you playing catch with him brought tears to my eyes. We are filled with excitement for you and your whole family. We will all be praying for you in tomorrow's service.

God Bless, Pastor Myron

Tom and Leanne,
I thought that I would check to see if you posted anything, not thinking that you had, but you did. Tom I am picturing you playing catch with Caleb and tears of joy start to well. The same with you Leanne with him sleeping in your lap, God is truly Great! I am so happy for the both of you and the whole family. Looking forward to seeing you soon.

Much Love,
Anna

Hey ya'll! (That was for Troy who is snoring behind me...). I enjoyed reading your blog - sounds like you are really enjoying your time, although a bit overwhelming at times I imagine! Thank you for sharing your experiences! Praise God for the struggles you have grown through to make it to this moment God has blessed you with. Have a safe trip back. I look forward to meeting Caleb, enjoying some coffee with you, and helping with Caleb's quilt (if you still need me to). God Bless you!
